Creative & Everyday Life

The skills that make life richer.

Playing an instrument, baking bread, fixing a dripping tap, growing tomatoes, getting started with yoga: most of what we love doing, someone once showed us. Skill x Swap makes it easy to pass that on and pick up something new in return.

How exchanging these skills works

Swap a hobby for a hobby, or learn one-way. Two-way reciprocal swaps are free. One-way learning uses 1 credit, and the teacher earns it only after both members confirm the session is complete. You choose whether to meet online or in person and agree arrangements that suit you both.

Creative & Everyday Life: common questions

Can I swap a hobby for another hobby?

Yes. If you teach guitar and want to learn baking, a reciprocal swap with a member who wants the opposite is free for both of you.

Do practical skills like DIY happen in person?

They can. Members set their online or in-person preferences and agree arrangements together. Please take sensible safety precautions when meeting.

I’m a keen amateur, not a professional. Can I still share?

Yes. You don’t need formal credentials to share something you genuinely know — just be clear about your experience.

Is wellbeing guidance on Skill x Swap medical advice?

No. Wellbeing and fitness exchanges are peer sharing, not medical or professional health advice.
